Redundancy Committee
As provided for in Statute XII, Part B, and in accordance with the decision of Congregation dated 20 May 2003, Council has appointed a Redundancy Committee to consider proposals to terminate open-ended, externally funded contracts on grounds of redundancy.
The Redundancy Committee only considers formal proposals forwarded by Divisional Boards or other appropriate authorities.
It is the Redundancy Committee’s responsibility to consider the case for redundancy, to confirm that the proper procedures have been followed, to select the staff who are to be dismissed from the at-risk pool and to make a recommendation to Council. It is Council which authorises the Head of Department to issue the notice of dismissal.
Anyone who believes that they have a matter which should be referred to the Redundancy Committee should
