Record-keeping

All records relating to recruitment and selection exercises should be retained for at least six months (and no more than 12 months). Information to be retained should include:

  • applications
  • references
  • shortlisting notes
  • interview notes for all members of the selection panel
  • selection test paperwork
  • any other documentation provided by candidates (copies of qualifications, etc)

After this date paperwork should be securely destroyed (for example by shredding)
