Sick leave (academic staff)
A member of academic staff who is sick and unable to work must notify their divisional contact (see below) as soon as possible. Academic staff with college appointments must also notify the college. For absences of between one and three days, no medical documentation is necessary. For absences of between four and seven days, a self-certification form (obtainable from the divisional contact) must be completed. For absences of more than seven days, a doctor's note or equivalent must be provided.
It is important that the divisional contact is notified of all sickness, including sickness occurring during vacation time or while the member of staff affected is on sabbatical leave, even if he/she is out of Oxford at the time.
