Working in administration means providing high-quality and responsive support to enable the University to deliver excellence in learning, teaching, and research, and through this to enrich society. Our administrators support the work of academic departments and divisions, colleges, as well underpinning the central University Administration and Services. Oxford employs talented people with generalist administrative skills as well as specialists in areas such as finance and personnel.
The people featured in our profiles exemplify the diversity of what it’s like to work here. Some of the things they do include:
- Managing a finance team looking after expenditure of £60-£90m a year
- Supporting the creation of Oxford’s new bursary and fee waiver scheme
- Enabling the 1,500 disabled students at the University to succeed in their studies
- Leading the Academic Administration Division, whose 265 staff coordinate student services and administration
- Developing new projects to engage the public in science at Oxford
- Coordinating and developing a college's academic and student recruitment strategies
