HR Self-Service

The HR Self-Service (phase one) project will give all University employees access to view the data held on their CoreHR personnel record, the ability to update some of their personal details themselves, and access to their payslips and P60s online. HR Self-Service also enables managers (as designated by their department) to view some information about their team.

This webpage is aimed at users of the CorePersonnel module and HR staff in departments. It contains information relating to the impact that self-service will have on local HR processes and how departments can prepare themselves for the implementation of HR Self-Service in their area.

The planned timetable for implementation is:

  • Employee Self-Service: June 2018
  • Manager Self-Service: three waves between June and July 2018

Information for department administrators/HR staff

The project team has been working with all the departmental key contacts regarding preparation for HR Self-Service. Updates will also be provided in the HRIS Bulletin and essential information will be sent by email to all CoreHR users.

Briefing sessions

In April and May 2018, the project team ran a series of briefing sessions aimed at preparing staff with HR responsibilities for the launch of HR Self-Service. Over 180 staff attended the briefing sessions and the team were delighted with the level of engagement and constructive feedback received. A copy of the slides and handouts distributed during the briefings can be accessed from the ‘Briefing Materials’ section on the right-hand side of this page. A list of all the questions raised at the briefings can also be found here.

Communications to staff

Communications to staff began with a session at the UAS Conference in March last year. This was followed by an article published in the Hilary Term 2018 edition of Blueprint.

In May 2018, posters, postcards and a communications toolkit will be sent to key HR contacts and departmental communications leads, aimed at raising awareness of HR Self-Service to staff in preparation for launch. An ‘All Staff’ email announcement will be sent prior to launch to encourage staff to access the system, and additional messaging will be included in July payslips.
