Impact and Knowledge Exchange
The 'impact' of research is about outcomes and benefits in terms of academic, economic and societal impacts (including benefits for the economy overall, business, public policy, health, culture, the quality of life).
Knowledge Exchange (KE) is about the two-way exchange or flow of ideas and people between universities and other organisations.
The University of Oxford remains influential and relevant to the outside world because it understands and engages with industry, policy makers and the wider society. Oxford is committed to optimising the benefits of its research and to KE. Impact and KE are at the forefront of the Government agenda on higher education (including through the Research Councils and TSB, the Research Excellence Framework and HEIF), and are of keen interest to many other research funders, industry and other groups.
Research Services is involved in a variety of projects to inform, develop and support the University's impact and KE activities.
