Photo shots and filming at Oxford

Oxford is known as the city of dreaming spires. With its world class-university, gorgeous buildings and vibrant city centre, it is often the first choice for production companies looking for quintessentially English exteriors and interiors.

Built by Sir Thomas Jackson between 1876 and 1881, the Examination Schools was considered to be Jackson’s masterpiece bringing him from obscurity to prominence in architecture. There are many interesting features in this historic conference venue such as the Examiners throne in the South School, Aesop’s fables depicted in the marble floor of the Great Hall, and the marble inlay on the West staircase. As an architectural gem in the city centre of Oxford, the Schools provide location managers with an ideal filming backdrop for stills, films and television both inside and out.
