The South School

The South School, situated at the top of a sweeping central marble staircase, is the primary conference room within the schools, and comfortably seats 440 theatre style. The room is "T" shaped which means it is suited to a variety of presentation styles and has built in data projection. The meeting room is often used in conjunction with the North Writing School for catering purposes. It is situated on the first floor.

The South Writing School has many interesting features and artwork including the Examiner’s throne, designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The throne was originally used as a pulpit in the Divinity school at the Bodleian Library.

Other meeting room features: The South School looks out onto the quad area and is a naturally well lit room. Natural daylight can be adjusted via black-out blinds which are positioned across all the windows. The room has overhead lighting as well as more subtle uplighting and links directly into the North and East School. A deaf aid loop can be provided in the room.
Ideal for: Major conferences, exhibitions, receptions and dinners.
