The Theatre extends a warm welcome to groups for self-guided or guided tours. Tour leaders, blue badge guide holders and coach drivers can enjoy free admission with their group. All guests receive a tourist information leaflet on arrival at the Theatre.

New - Bespoke and Corporate Guided Tours
For businesses and groups looking for something different when it comes to networking or social programmes, the Sheldonian Theatre is now offering bespoke guided tours of the Theatre and its immediate surroundings. The hour long tour will explore the history of the University, from its foundation to the present day and look at the magnificent ceremonial hall of the University, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, with its stunning painted canvas ceiling and panoramic views over the city. For that luxurious touch why not add a choice of refreshments to the end of you tour (min 50 people for catering).

As the Theatre is a working building for the University opening times vary. Details can be found on the opening hours page. Dates and times for guided tours for the next season will be published in April 2016. To make a booking in the future please contact us and we can advise on our availability. Should you wish to book on a date that is not on our published list please still ask us as we may be able to accommodate your visit.
Advanced payment is required for groups. Payment can be made by:
a debit or credit card over the phone
by sending a cheque to University of Oxford, Sheldonian Theatre, Broad Street, Oxford, OX1 3AZ
via invoice (value must exceed £50.00).
