Santander Scholarships

Overview
|
Santander and the University of Oxford began to collaborate in 2007 on a number of projects including scholarships, summer programmes and support to the Said Business School and the Latin American Centre.
These Santander Scholarships are offered to graduate students from the Santander Universities network. They are either offered as partial awards to Master's students who have the intention of continuing their studies at doctoral level, or offered to Master's and doctoral students as a joint scholarship with a Clarendon Fund Scholarship or a Scatcherd European Scholarship

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Other criteria
|
If you are applying for a Master's course, you must be intending to continue your studies at doctoral level.
Preference will be given to students who have done their first degree at one of the universities in the Santander Universities Network in the countries listed above

Level of study
|
For partial awards: full-time Master's degrees.
For joint scholarships with the Clarendon Fund and Scatcherd European: full-time DPhil and Master's degrees.
The following courses are not eligible for either partial or joint scholarships: BCL, MJur, MBA, EMBA, MFE, PGCE and any part-time Master's courses.
A separate Santander MBA Scholarship will be offered in 2010-11; please see the 'Other information' section below

If you are awarded a joint scholarship, the Santander Scholarship will be offered in the first year of your course. The Clarendon Fund or the Scatcherd European will cover all your other costs for the duration of your course

Application procedure
|
Apply at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting Santander Abbey Scholarship in the Funding Section of the University's Graduate Application Form.
If you are from Spain or Portugal, you should also select Scatcherd European in the Funding Section of the University's Graduate Application Form to be considered for a joint Santander-Scatcherd European Scholarship.
If you are from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay or Venezuela, you should also select Clarendon Fund in the Funding Section of the University's Graduate Application Form to be considered for a joint Santander-Clarendon Fund Scholarship

Results
|
We expect to notify successful candidates at the end of May 2010. A notice will appear on the Student Funding website when decisions have been made. If you have not heard from us by the time this notice is posted, then your application to this scheme has been unsuccessful.
Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on their applications

Other information
|
The award may be held in conjunction with other partial scholarships as well as in conjunction with the Clarendon Fund and Scatcherd European Scholarships.
A separate Santander MBA Scholarship is run by the Said Business School.
Santander also sponsors Academic Travel Awards to students studying at Oxford.
