eVision Design
eVision has been developed to make it accessible and usable to everyone, including those with disabilities, aiming to providing all users with an equivalent experience.
Following user feedback from the eVision design consultation in May 2012 and work with the Public Affairs Directorate and the Disability Advisory Service, a series of enhancements to eVision have been made ready for Degree Ceremonies go-live in October 2012. In considering the needs of all potential users, we are initially working on the following areas:
| Making the eVision user interface work with assistive technology (AT). |
| Making the user interface work with a number of settings (for example high contrast mode and large fonts). |
| Designing the user interface so that, by default, it works for as many users as possible (for example, distinction between different functional areas of the system, colour contrast between text and backgrounds etc). |
| Including users that may not consider themselves to be disabled, who use settings in their browser which the University can’t control to make webpages more accessible. |
Functional Areas
|
Distinction between different functional areas has been integral to the design work, with each activity (for example, Degree Ceremonies, Fees and Funding) having its own visual identity which is carried throughout the system and accompanying training materials. |
