Application process

NOW RECRUITING - The Temporary Staffing Service is currently accepting applications for the ‘Admin & Clerical’ pool. If you are available for temporary work and can demonstrate strong administration, PA or reception skills, please email a copy of your CV to or contact the team on Tel: 01865 (6)12360

The demand for staff can fluctuate significantly across the University, with some departments requiring additional support to manage peak periods in the academic calendar, while others need assistance during projects and events, or due to staff shortages. In order to react quickly to these unpredictable and ever-changing needs, the Temporary Staffing Service maintains a pool of suitably skilled candidates for each staff category it supplies. You will find notification of any areas that are currently being recruited to on this page. If you are interested in applying, please email a copy of your current CV or contact our offices on 01865 (6)12360. Our team will be able to advise if your skills and experience match with the current opportunities.

If your skills, experience and availability match the current demand, a member of our team will invite you to register with the Service and send out a link to any online assessments and the Temporary Staffing Service registration form. The registration is completed online via the University’s e-Recruitment portal. After reading the 'Information for applicants' document, you will need to click 'apply now' which will take you to a Login page. If you have already applied online for other vacancies at the University, you will be able to use the same account and can save time by reusing information entered on previous applications. New users will need to set an account by selecting the 'Register Now' option. If you have difficulty with the online registration, you will find links to the e-Recruitment help pages on the right hand menu on this page.

Registration interview

All suitable applicants are asked to attend a registration interview with one of the Temporary Staffing Service recruitment team. Before attending the interview it is essential that you have completed your online application and any assessments that have been sent out. The interview will take place at the Temporary Staffing Service offices, based in Little Clarendon Street (see map). You’ll be advised what you need to bring with you to the interview, but details are contained in the 'Attending your registration interview' document found on the right hand section of this page.
