Pay and Benefits

The Temporary Staffing Service aims to recruit temporary staff that demonstrate a passion for their field and can make an immediate contribution to the departments they work in. To achieve this, the Service not only offers competitive rates of pay, but also provides additional benefits which organisations rarely extend to their temporary workforce. For many, the greatest benefit is the experience they can gain working at Oxford, a valuable addition to any CV, particularly when applying for posts internally or with other universities and education providers across the world.

The Service works closely with Departmental Managers to ensure that the pay associated with temporary assignments is appropriate for the skills and experience required. Remuneration is on an hourly basis and the hourly rate will be confirmed with each assignment.

Temporary staff working through the Service will accrue holiday entitlement for every hour worked. The holiday entitlement is equivalent to the 38 days per annum that is received by the University’s employees.

Alongside the short-term opportunities offered by the Temporary Staffing Service, temporary workers will be able to apply for ‘Internal only’ vacancies advertised on the University jobs pages.

Card benefits

The Temporary Staffing Service will issue longer-term workers with a University Card, which will provide access to certain training services and discounts with various retail partners.
