We are on Twitter every day

Oxford Students Twitter provides an instant method to communicate news and events, link to content and talk with students. With over 10,000 followers - second only to the University main account - we have established a credible reputation, enjoying shares and re-tweets from students, colleges, departments and organisations.

Student Advisory Group - hearing it first-hand

The Student Advisory Group presents an opportunity to engage with students on your work face-to-face and to receive direct feedback. If you would like to consult with students on a project or initiative, contact the AAD Communications Office to set up a focus group.

Pre-arrival News - reaching offer-holders

Pre-arrival News is received by all offer-holders monthly from March to September in preparation for coming to live and study at Oxford. Similar to the Student News, this channel is integrated with the Oxford Students website and contains news, updates, events and deadlines from across the University’s central services relevant to offer-holders. Engagement is monitored and evaluated. Discuss with us how to become a contributor or to utilise this channel as part of your promotion or communications plan.

Publications and print materials

The AAD Communications Office manage the annual production of the University Student Handbook. We are here to advise on the production of print materials, including guidance on timing, content, format and layout, or simply as a copy-editing or proof reading service. We may also be able to secure you access to the Oxford University Press Gift in Kind print funding.

Do you need student- or Oxford-related images for your publication? The AAD Communications Office has a subscription to the University of Oxford Image Library that can be used for AAD materials. Contact us to discuss your image needs.

Digital content

Rich media is an engaging way to communicate and can be an incredibly powerful, but time-consuming to make. Our statistics show that videos and podcasts are some of our most widely shared content. Your message needs to be engaging as you have about 12 seconds to grab attention online. It needs to be short (web video is usually between 2-5 minutes long). Contact us to discuss the use of media, as well as for an update on the digital content currently available.

Targeted emails

Our integrated student communications strategy is focused on creating the right message, delivered using the right channel, at the right time, for maximum effectiveness. In this email overload world we may still recommend email as the best channel – but always targeted!  Contact us to discuss the most effective channel for your needs.
