How it works!
The access guide is resource for all visitors to the University, whilst there is strong disability focus; we feel that it will be useful for anyone!
The guide is comprised of 'buildings pages' basically a web page for each building. On the each buildings page there are different sections to help you find the information you need:
1. Main Image
This is a representation of where the building is and what it looks like, to help you recognise the building when you arrive. There is also a general access statement underneath the picture.
2. At a Glance
This table summarises basic access information for those in a rush or who want basic information to clarify whether this buildings meets their access needs.
3. Contact Details
This area contains contact information including address, telephone and email details in case you have any questions. Simply click on the email addresses to open a pop up box to send your email.
4. Detailed Information
In the centre of the page are headings with bright orange icons that signify what each section is about. You can cherry pick the information you want by clicking on the '+more' to expand the heading. If you want to expand all of them in one go click the '++show all' just above the start of the list. Once expanded there is written information and a small photo gallery underneath the text.
Click of any of the thumbnails to enlarge, a pop up gallery will appear, these can be navigated with the left and right arrows and closed by hitting the 'x' in the top right hand corner.
6. The 'carousel'
This scroll of images has all images in the page. That way you can see all the buildings features in one gallery, it works the same as the thumbnails located under the headings. Click on any of the thumbnails to enlarge, a pop up gallery will appear, these can be navigated with the left and right arrows and closed by hitting the 'x' in the top right hand corner. You can also scroll through the thumbnails by clicking the small orange arrows.
Here is a simple feedback form or email link to let us know what you think, both positive and negative. This is a new venture and we want to know what you want!
