Art School building shortlisted for award

The Ruskin School of Art has been shortlisted for the South East region Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards, in the Design Through Innovation section.

The School, in Bullingdon Road, Cowley, was opened in October last year. The new building sits on a residential road of Victorian terraces and its design, colour palette and materials are designed to reflect its setting. But all is not what it seems as the double height windows on the street side are made of innovative new smart glass, creating a gallery space by projecting images onto the front windows from the inside.
