University buys Cavalier House

The Asset Management team, on behalf of Graduate Accommodation, has completed the acquisition of Cavalier House in Marston. The plan is now to rent out the single en-suite rooms to graduate students of the University.

Currently the building is divided into two parts, one of 18 single study en-suite bedroom and the other of 37. Postgraduates will start moving into the 18 rooms as soon as tenants can be found – six of these have been let already. The other will be filled in September 2018, once the lease with the British Studies Centre expires – this was arranged with previous owner Soha Housing.

The location is particularly convenient for access to the John Radcliffe hospital, but also has good transport links with the city centre. The new units will help the team find alternative accommodation for tenants of 25 Wellington Square while it is refurbished in 2018-19. Any graduate students interested in renting one of the units should contact graduate.accommodation@admin.ox.ac.uk.
