Castle Mill planning application now live

The University’s application for planning permission to make changes to the Castle Mill graduate accommodation is now up on Oxford City Council’s website.

The proposals aim to reduce the buildings’ visual impact on views from Port Meadow. They include measures that range from painting rendered walls a darker colour and planting semi-mature trees around Castle Mill to creating ‘living walls’ and replacing imitation timber cladding with untreated natural wood. There will also be changes to the lighting scheme to reduce light spill.

Members of the public can now access numerous documents and technical reports that provide more detail on the proposals and how they would affect Castle Mill and its surroundings both during the work and afterwards. They can also provide feedback on the application.
