Kellogg Hub reaches last stage of Building Awards

Kellogg College’s recently-opened Hub building has been shortlisted for the Building Awards 2017, under the ‘Small Project of the Year’ category.

The winners will be announced at an awards event in London on 7 November; in the meantime, full shortlists for all categories are available on the Building Awards website.

Kellogg College Hub

Providing a social centre at the heart of the college with a common room and a café open to the local community, the Hub is the first non-residential building in Oxford to be designed according to the Passivhaus approach. This aims to produce heavily-insulated buildings that use an exceptionally small amount of energy while also being very comfortable.

The Hub was designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, and stems from a collaboration between Kellogg College and the Estates Services Capital Projects and Environmental Sustainability teams. Oxford Vice-Chancellor Professor Louise Richardson officially opened it in June.
