Estates Services achieves full customer service accreditation

Estates Services has reached its long-standing goal of securing accreditation under the externally-assessed, government-led Customer Service Excellence framework.

Most individual teams within the department have been accredited for some time, and the last team – Asset and Space Management – has now reached this target, meaning that the department as a whole is now fully accredited. Estates Services is not only the first department within the University to achieve this, but the first university estates department in the UK to do so.

This provides objective confirmation that people across the department, from facilities managers and building inspectors to mechanical fitters and security patrol officers, work according to best practice in their fields, with a common goal of providing customers all over the University with the best possible service.

This is the culmination of a journey that began in 2013, during which teams all over Estates Services have transformed their approach to dealing with customers. From now on each will be periodically re-assessed to ensure that high standards are maintained.
