University joins Considerate Constructors’ Scheme

The University has become a Client Partner of the prestigious Considerate Constructors’ Scheme, which aims to improve the image of the construction industry by promoting and achieving best practice as set out under its code.

Considerate Constructors Scheme Companies and organisations cannot pay to become a member of the scheme, but must instead meet a number of criteria before the CCS board will invite them to join the scheme.

As a member, the University must abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, which covers five key areas: construction site appearance, respect for the local community, protecting the environment, safety, and valuing the construction workforce.

The University’s membership applies to all capital projects with a construction value of more than £10 million.
