Our Values

Our Values are shared statements of our intentions, expressing how we want to behave within Finance organization and with the academic, research and administrative ‘customers’ in the University. In Finance, we have defined our shared Values so they can guide how we conduct ourselves in the workplace to get the best out of our people and the organisation.

Our Values are Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect. They are part of how we conduct business across the University, and are fully integrated in our processes for staff.

Competencies

Our development and training processes also include five key competencies which support the training and development plans for all our colleagues in Finance.

Our key competencies are:

  • Leadership
  • Communications
  • Teamwork
  • Customer Service
  • Planning & Organising

There are four levels for each competency and all members of staff are expected to achieve at least level 1. If you were to join us, you could take the opportunity to develop your soft skills, become a better manager and communicator and actively work on developing your career.

Investors in People and Green Impact

The Finance Division is committed to gaining the Investors in People accreditation of Silver, having received the Bronze award in 2013. We are also working towards the Silver level of the Higher Education Green Impact Award, an accreditation awarded to units that can evidence environmental management and dedication to being environmentally responsible.
