The University is carrying out a rolling programme of major building works at Castle Mill.  The duration of the building works will be dependent on the University’s contractors, the weather, and the availability of materials.

Due to the extensive nature of the works, the University will be offering rent reductions during periods when the University Building Works at Castle Mill are substantially underway.  The level of rent reduction applied will be dependent on the nature of the disruption and inconvenience affecting each accommodation block. 

The table below includes examples of the types of work which could trigger a percentage rent reduction, and the associated range of rent reductions that will be applied.  This information relates to tenancy agreements for the period 1 August 2018 – 31 July 2019.

She will be your first point of contact and will liaise with the contractors on behalf of tenants. Ingrid be running a drop-in at the Castle Mill office (A block next to the common room) every Wednesday from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm to answer any queries from tenants.

Modern, well-appointed and maintained accommodation

Castle Mill is located at the end of Roger Dudman way, which is convenient for the train station and Oxford City Centre.  There is also pedestrian and cycle access at the Northern end of the site via Walton Well Road, which gives easy access to Jericho, North Oxford and the Science Quarter. The site is located between the railway line and Port Meadow.

The accommodation consists of two phases – the original blocks A-C, and the newly built second phase - Blocks D-L. 

Rooms and studios are equipped with the basic furniture required - tenants must provide their own bed linen (including pillows), crockery, cutlery, cooking and household items.

All tenants are responsible for the cleaning of their own room/studio. A regular cleaning service is provided for the shared kitchens and other common areas.

There is no parking at Castle Mill.
