The responsibilities of the HR Analytics team can be broadly divided into internal and external reporting and analysis.

  • Provide comprehensive, accurate and timely HR data, analyses and reports
  • Provide information to support strategic policy and decision making within Personnel and PRAC committees
  • Work with the HRIS Support Centre and departments to improve data quality within the Core Personnel
  • Support departments in the use of Core HR


  • Complete the annual Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Staff Return
  • Provide higher education institutions with HESA staff identifier numbers
  • Provide data and reports for Athena SWAN applications
  • Respond to Freedom of Information Act requests (make a request)
  • Provide data for and complete external surveys and benchmarking
