HR Self-Service

The HR Self-Service (phase one) project will give all University employees access to view the data held on their CoreHR personnel record, the ability to update some of their personal details themselves, and access to their payslips and P60s online. The project will also enable managers (as designated by their department) to view some information about their team.

This webpage is aimed at users of the CorePersonnel module and HR staff in departments.  It contains information relating to the impact that self-service will have on local HR processes and how departments can prepare themselves for the implementation of HR Self-Service in their area.

The planned timetable for implementation is:

  • Employee Self-Service: end of April 2018
  • Manager Self-Service: three waves between May and July 2018

Information for department administrators/HR staff

The project team has contacted all departments to identify a key contact for communications regarding preparation for HR Self-Service. Most communication will be by email directly to these “key contacts”.  Updates will also be provided in the HRIS Bulletin and essential information will be sent by email to all CoreHR users.

Briefing sessions

Briefing sessions aimed at preparing departments for HR Self-Service will be delivered by the Project Team and are open to all staff with HR responsibilities. It is essential that at least one CorePersonnel user from each department attends a briefing session. To sign up, please follow the link against the session you would like to book.

Communications to staff

Communications to staff started with a session at the UAS Conference in March last year and there was an item published in the latest edition of Blueprint (Hilary Term 2018). During March and April material will be distributed to departments via their local or divisional communication lead and will include posters, postcards and items for inclusion in local newsletters. Print payslips will include a message in the month of the launch of HR Self-Service onwards and an all-staff email will be sent once the system is available for use.
