Further information

  1. Issues considered by the group include the following:
    1. association of new academic posts (other than statutory posts) with colleges
    2. entitlement procedure
    3. conversion of CUF Lecturerships to University Lecturerships
  2. Proposals for conversion of CUF Lecturerships to University Lecturerships are considered by the joint panel on behalf of PRAC subject to report to PRAC in any case of doubt or difficulty. Guidelines on points that should be covered in such proposals are as follows. The case should:
    1. confirm that the proposal is consistent with the divisional five-year plan (quoting relevant sections);
    2. confirm that the college(s) concerned support the conversion;
    3. confirm that the division will cover the additional costs on the university side;
    4. comment on the priority that the post(s) has/have for refilling in relation to other CUF and UL posts, and the academic grounds for this priority, making clear whether the fact that the college is willing to convert the post to a UL, and/or to support a titular post, has had any bearing on this.
