Safe Use of Woodworking Machinery

Who should attend?

New woodworkshop machinists or woodworkers who require refresher training.

Course Details

When compared to other industires, woodworking activities account for a disproportionately high number of serious machinery accidents. Woodworking machines often have high speed cutting devices which owing to the nature of the work cannot be totally enclosed. Only authorised, properly trained and competent individuals should be allowed to operate these machines.

Individuals requiring training should contact the Safety Office to register interest. Although the Safety Office is unable to provide centralised training it will be possible to recommend an external training provider so that a bespoke 'in-house' course can be developed according to departmental and trainee needs.
