Who should attend?

Suitable for those persons who are doing a minimum amount of food preparation and cooking e.g. sandwich and snack bar operators, or departmental staff preparing light lunches for meetings etc.

Course Details

The main focus of this food safety course is on the prevention of contamination risks, the temperature control of high risk foods, and personal hygiene.

The indicative course content includes:

  • Causes of food poisoning and food borne disease
  • Contamination risks
  • Temperature control of high risk foods
  • Personal hygiene and cleaning procedures
  • Legal requirements
  • Group exercises and quizzes

Take up for this course has been very poor. Therefore individuals or groups who would like food safety training should contact the Safety Office to register their interest. When there are sufficient numbers a course will be arranged and those on the list will be notified.
