The International Strategy office aims to combine its expertise in higher education internationalisation and its analytic ability with other departments’ specialist expertise in order to identify opportunities and develop international activity. The work of the office includes designing initiatives and policy to secure Oxford’s international goals; collecting, creating, storing, analysing and publishing data on aspects of international activity; identifying, analysing and summarising international opportunities and risks for the University; coordinating country and regional networks and drafting international collaborative agreements; and arranging visits to Oxford by international partners and advising on foreign travel by senior University staff. Almost all of the International Strategy office’s activities are carried out in collaboration with other University departments.

Profile of the Director of International Strategy

Nina became Director of International Strategy in March 2018, after acting in this role from July 2017. Prior to this she was the Senior Strategy Officer for the team.

Before joining Oxford, Nina was Deputy Director of the Ditchley Foundation; she has also worked for Amnesty International, the Home Office, the Electoral Commission, and the Chariman of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee. Nina holds a degree in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge (Trinity Hall) and a Masters in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
